The Paterson Electronic Enlarging Meter is a darkroom tool used to determine correct exposure times for black and white printing. It functions as an integrating meter by measuring light levels at the enlarger baseboard to calculate exposure based on the average density of a negative.  Key Features: Averaging Measurement: It reads all densities in a negative to compute an average exposure value, though it can also be used for spot readings of specific highlights or shadows. Dual Models: Older versions are typically grey and mains-powered (210–250V AC), while newer versions are black and battery-operated. Visual Indicators: Uses a neon bulb (older models) that "strikes" or flickers, or dual LEDs (newer models) that balance to indicate the correct setting.
