Rollei 28.5mm filters are primarily push-on accessories designed for early Rolleiflex and Rolleicord cameras before the standardized bayonet mount system became universal. While some later Bayonet I filters are also marked with "28.5mm", it is because they share that physical diameter, and are distinct from the early friction-fit versions.
Types of 28.5mm Filters
These vintage filters were typically made of dyed-in-the-mass optical glass held in metal frames.
· Contrast Filters (B&W): Most common are Yellow (Gelb), Green (Grün), Red (Hellrot), and Orange for enhancing sky contrast and skin tones.
· Color Correction: Light Blue (Hellblau) was used to correct tungsten light or lighten skies in black and white photography.
· Close-up Lenses: Known as Proxars, these push-on lenses allow for closer focusing distances than the standard lens minimum.
· Soft Focus: The Duto 0 filter was a popular slip-on accessory for portraiture.
