The Vivitar SL-2 Remote Flash Trigger is a wireless optical slave trigger designed to fire off-camera flash units automatically when it detects light from a primary flash source. It is a popular legacy accessory often paired with classic flashes like the Vivitar 283 and 285 series. 

Key Features:

  • Trigger Mechanism: It uses a built-in optical slave cell that "sees" the burst of light from your main flash and immediately triggers the secondary flash attached to it.
  • Connectivity: Features a standard hot shoe on top and a PC sync port for flashes that require a cable connection.
  • Adjustability: The hot shoe mount swivels 360 degrees, allowing you to aim the sensor toward the primary flash for reliable triggering.
  • Sensitivity Control: Includes a sensitivity switch to help the unit function correctly in various environments, from bright daylight to low-light studios.

This Vivitar SL-2 Remote Flash Trigger is mounted on a Photographic Mount Co. Inc. Model TL-2 Flash Bracket. The TL-2 is a heavy-duty, L-shaped bracket designed to mount a flash unit alongside a camera.
