The Sankyo EM-40XL is a highly versatile Super 8 movie camera manufactured in Japan by Sankyo Seiki MFG Co. around 1979. It delivers excellent low-light performance and advanced features in a lightweight, compact body weighing just 800 grams. It is highly regarded by hobbyists for its sharp images and robust electromagnetic shutter system, making it a versatile choice for capturing professional-feeling footage.

·        Lens: Sankyo Zoom f1.2 / 9.2 - 37 mm with macro focusing capabilities, 4x zooming ratio, and a 220-degree low-light shutter angle.

·        Viewfinder: Single-lens reflex (SLR) design with an adjustable eyepiece, split-image focusing assistance, and an integrated exposure meter.

·        Focusing: Manual split-image focusing from 1.5 metres to infinity, including a macro mode for close-up shots.

·        Filming Speeds: Shoots at standard 18 and 24 frames per second (fps), high-speed 36 fps, and true single-frame capture mode ideal for animation.
