2026-06-08 - Gepe 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” Slide Mounts

 

Gepe 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 inch (70 x 70 mm) slide mounts are designed for medium format film, typically used for 6x4.5cm or 6x6cm slides. These larger mounts are often referred to as 7x7 mounts (referencing their centimetre dimensions) to distinguish them from standard 2x2 inch (50 x 50 mm) 35mm mounts. 

Key Features:

  • Film Flatness: The glass sandwich design keeps the large film surface perfectly flat, preventing the popping (losing focus) that occurs when heat from a projector causes unmounted film to bow.
  • Protection: They provide a sealed environment that protects delicate medium format emulsions from dust, fingerprints, and physical scratches.
  • Metal Masks: Higher-end models include internal metal masks that ensure razor-sharp edges for the projected image.
